Actress and part-time political Janeane Garofalo has weighed on the recent tax day protests that occurred across the United States. According to Garofalo the protests had nothing to do with Obama’s tax policies or out of control Congressional spending, nor is it an objective to Obama’s state-centric policies, no if you were a participant in the recent tax day “Tea Parties” you are nothing more than a “racist” and a “red-neck.” Those participants were only there because a black man was in the White House and for no other reason, presumably we can also conclude that she would assert that anyone voting against Obama is also a racist. One must therefore ask whether the same people who have opposed white leftists (such as the frighteningly left of center, Jhn Kerry) are also racists?
Such intelligent discourse demonstrates the ordeal of modern day leftist. Rather than engage in an actual dialogue on policy, Garofalo like many leftist resorts to dismissive name calling, the likes of which would make hardened fascists like Joesph Goebbels proud.
Perhaps even most ironic is the realization that Garofalo’s prognostication on racist protesters was racist in and of itself. Garofalo asserted that any black person attending the recent Tea Parties must be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, in other words no black person in their right mind could possibly oppose another black person, and therefore must be somehow brainwashed. After-all all blacks surely must think a like, they all watch the same movies and television programs, they all listen to the same music, they all share the same values and beliefs and they all share the same political views. The unbelievable bigotry of Garofalo’s statement is beyond the pale, but in no way surprising.
We must bear in mind that the true bigots are the American left and their paternalistic attitude to minorities and other groups, a mind set more akin to the slave masters of yore who asserted that they were acting in he best interests of their slaves, that they and they alone knew best. Garofalo’s intellectually dishonest bigoted tirade only further illustrates this mindset.
