For years a growing number of Americans have embraced the philosophy that is the burden of the federal government to solve our problems, including those that were self created.
As time has progressed that philosophy has been embraced by both major parties, businesses and private citizens alike. The recent passage of the $700 billion government bailout package only serves to re-emphasize this fact. Now a growing chorus of politicans are calling for a bailout of General Motors.
If this GM bailout is passed can there be any doubt that the principle of individual freedom and personal responsibility are dead concepts in America? Exactly what kind of message are we sending to future generations of Americans? Is the message that we are free to make irresponsible decisions without consequence, as GM has done? Perhaps such a reality shouldn’t come as a surprise, given Americas recent enthusiastic embrace of Senator Government and his Marxist agenda of redistributive government.
