There is plenty of ammunition for the president if he chooses to use it. With each passing day there is further evidence that the US economy continues to defy the naysayers (i.e., the Democratic Party). Already in the past week there have been glowing reports about US economic growth, which exceeded 4% for the most recent quarter and stellar job growth for the month of November, with some 4 million jobs created in the past 2 years and now the latest report: US productivity increased by the highest percentage in 2 years to 4.7%, which exceeded most analyst’s expectations. At the same time, labor costs also declined.
These figures further demonstrate the robust energy found in the US economy. Contrary to the words of American leftists, America’s best days aren’t behind her. The economy is not on the wrong track as prominent leftists like Kerry and Kennedy have argued. America is prospering, but the left tirelessly persists in maintaining the fiction that the country is languishing in the doldrums, all this for their own maniacal purposes of course. So what do these latest figures mean for the American worker and the American consumer? Higher productivity means higher profits for American industry, without added costs for consumers, higher productivity is also equated with higher salaries, with a diminished threat of inflation. Once again president Bush has been handed inescapable proof that his economic policies were correct and the path implored by his opponents was foolhardy, now the question remains whether the president will point out this reality to the American people or will he continue to allow the left to control the debate in this country.
