Hate mongers exposed…

Frequent readers of the Phalanx are quite familiar with the Westboro Baptist Church, the so called Christian congregation has developed a name for themselves spreading hatred everywhere they go, an inversion of the “great commission” given to all true Christians. The Westboro Hate Mongers are led by “Reverend” Fred Phelps. Phelps and his “congregation” of hate frequently travel to the site of Iraqi war funerals to cheer and deride the mourners. Phelps and his cronies call these deaths (as well as the 9/11 terror attacks) God’s retribution upon a country that tolerates Gays. Phelps’ perversion of the scriptures would be laughable if not for the fact that he has corrupted dozens to his twisted view of Christianity. Britain’s Sky News, the sister station of America’s Fox News, secretly conducted a sweeping investigation into Phelps and his Westboro Hate Fest. They also filmed a hate filled speech by Phelps, in which he praised the London terror attacks and lamented that only a few dozen died rather than millions. Phelps also noted that America was deserving of such a fate. Phelps’ bigotry and hatred apparently knows no bounds and it is offensive that he calls himself Christian. Somehow, we find it hard to believe that Christ would approve of Phelps’ message. Regardless of one’s position of homosexuality, they are quite a few sins that Phelps is clearly guilty of. Rather than spreading a message of hate, Phelps should be down on his knees begging forgiveness or he may wake up to find that the fate he seeks for others has become his.
