Phalanx laments lack of material

Yes we admit it, when it comes to material, today is a lackluster day at best. We have scanned the headlines from several major cities in America. We have perused the news in Britain , Canada, the Middle East, Asia and even Australia and still nothing. There simply isn’t anything going on today, that raises even an eyebrow at the Phalanx. Sure…we could write about Tom Delay, but frankly it is such a non-issue, our hearts just wouldn’t be in it. Does anyone really care what kind of mug shot Delay posed for? If you do then keep looking on the Google blogsearch, I’m sure there are plenty of sites that will provide great detail on such a captivating subject, but the Phalanx isn’t one of them. Then there’s the ongoing saga about Karl Rove and the leak in the White House and somebody named Plame and so on and so forth. Generally we pride ourselves on being knowledgeable about current events, but this whole issue is so unimportant to us, that we would be at a loss even to identify the key players, let alone present a position of the issues. Now we aren’t saying that this issue doesn’t have some far reaching implications, no doubt it does, but it just doesn’t interest us, like studies on poverty, tirades from Hugo Chavez, nuclear confrontations with North Korea or public schools. Call us narrow in our focus if you like, but backroom politics just never was our thing and given that we aren’t Republicans its hard to get too worked up over their plight.
