Syndicated radio personality, Neal Boortz has enraged the left (again). Apparently Neal Boortz, was commenting on a story out of New York that wealthy New Yorkers had been warned about the plot against the NY Subway before the general populace. Apparently Boortz was in agreeance with this move and launched into a tirade noting that the country should set priorities as the poor were drags on society in any case. Its hard to disagree with Boortz on principle. With some exceptions, those people in this country, who are considered poor are in that boat because of the decisions they have made for themselves. We at the Phalanx have gone to great lengths to tell you exactly why Johnny is so poor and we haven’t altered our opinion. On the other hand, simply because someone is a deadbeat, a drag on society and is content to accomplish nothing in life, doesn’t mean we should keep them in the dark when there is a threat to our safety. In this sense, Boortz is wrong. If officials in New York were aware of a threat and were sufficiently confident that they felt the need to alert the public, then the entire public should have been notified at the same time, not selectively. From the moment Boortz made his on air comments, the forums on the left went alive with “pauper praise” and leftist tirades about conspiracies to “screw” the poor. In reality, no one has done more to undermine the plight of the poor than the poor themselves. Why, do you suppose, these leftist forums are so teaming with anger? Because nothing angers someone more than to expose the depths of their guilt and the truth. The truth of poverty in America angers those who find themselves in such positions, they can’t bare the thaught that they are somehow to blame for their own problems and want nothing more than to blame other for their sloth and laziness.
