The world certainly grieves for the thousands of innocent lives that have been lost in Pakistan and NW India. This is certainly a time for people to give in support of the relief effort in that troubled region of the world. According to the latest estimates from the Pakistani government, as many as 40,000 people could be dead in the rubble of the 7.3 magnitude quake that struck the region. Sadly, in places like Pakistan, natural disasters can have a devastating affects. In many third world nations, like Pakistan, the population density is extremely high per square mile, and in those areas many people live in sub standard housing, making the population extremely vulnerable, when mother nature’s fury is unleashed. Again we must reiterate, that this disaster is tragic and all decent people must grieve for the lives that have been lost, but in light of world events, one must naturally wonder what Al Qaeda has to say about this significant loss of life. When Hurricane Katrina struck the US, many Islamic fundamentalists (and even some moderates) cheered, calling it God’s retribution upon the United States. Some radicals called Katrina and ally of Al Qaeda. Well if that is the case, what do these radicals think of the Pakistan Quake, is it God’s retribution as well, and given the fact that the death toll is 40x greater, does that mean these people are 40x more deserving of punishment? Naturally, no spokesman for Al Qaeda could be reached for comment and the radical Mullahs who were so quick to speak after Katrina have remained silent about the role of God in this disaster. While no one with Al Qaeda could be reached for comment, we did check out Al Jazeera, which is practically one in the same, to see what they had to say, would you believe their top story is Iraq, in fact there’s only a blurb on their web site about the quake, buried on the right hand corner, in a font barely readable. Perhaps they don’t care about their fellow Muslims…no that can’t be. Surely they must care…look at all the aid that has poured in to Pakistan to aid the injured…oh wait a minute…what aid? In fact most of the pledges of assistance have come from the west and arch rival India. And whom are the Pakistanis turning to for assistance? Not Iran, not Syria, not Saudi Arabia or other fellow Islamic states. No they are turning to Europe and the United States, the very same infidels who came to the aid of millions of Muslims in Indonesia after last year’s Tsunami. But we needn’t concern ourselves which such facts as no good deed goes unpunished, our service and our aid will quickly be forgotten, as it always has been.
