European hypocrisy there for all to see…

The European Union, is a self serving ethnocentric, leftists hypocritical regime. That’s the conclusion any civilized person must draw after witnessing the plight that is Turkey. Turkey has been ramroded, bamboozled and hoodwinked by the EU hypocrites who continue to throw roadblock after roadblock at Turkey in its goal to achieve membership in the European Union. The hypocrisy is so blatant and obvious that it is hardly fathomable that the EU’s leaders can argue with a straight face that they are looking at the issue of Turkey’s admission with an objective viewpoint. In reality their view is blind by their blind hatred. Take the case of Turkey and Romania. Romania completed its negotiations for membership in 2004 and is slated to attain full membership within the European Union in 2007. Turkey on the other hand has been shortchanged and only this week (with much in the way of notable objections) has Turkey begun talks, with the promise of admission in a decade. A decade! When one looks at Turkey and Romania, one has to ask why Romania was given the green light and Turkey was given the cold shoulder. Turkey’s economy is growing at a rate exceeding 8%, slightly higher than Romania. A far higher than practically every EU country, especially perennial failures: France and Germany. Turkey’s purchasing power parity is almost the same as Romania’s. Turkey’s poverty rate is far lower than Romania’s (20% vs. 29%). Turkey has a better quality of life, insofar as it relates to life expectancy. Romania also lacks a democratic tradition, unlike Turkey. Turkey has been a long-standing and dependable member of NATO, unlike Romania and a trusty ally to the west, something not even France can claim. In spite of these glaring disparities, Romania is favored for admission and Turkey is brushed aside. The same arguments could be made in comparing Turkey and Cyprus, a current EU member. Regardless of these facts, Europe persists that Turkey isn’t ready for EU membership, what they really mean is they aren’t ready to commune with the Turks.
